qualified rigger level one training session

This course is entry level for basic Qualified Rigger trainees. It is based off NCCER internationally recognized certification. 

 

 

To participate in the class, you must have basic rigging knowledge, skills, and job relevant experience. This program is taught in a classroom setting, and includes making sure all participants fully understand sling hitches, proper gear assemblies, and working load limits. Upon completion of this class student will take an NCCER Written & Practical Examination.

Each attendee will receive an NCCER student workbook, NCCER certification and certification card (with passing grade of 80% or higher), and a Signal Person and Master Rigger Handbook.

Topics Discussed

  • Safely uses and recognizes the limitations of chain, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings as well as specific rigging hardware that includes hooks and similar attaching devices, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eyebolts, softeners, and taglines.
  • Identifies common load configurations and positioning.
  • Demonstrates specific knowledge of crane operations including voice and radio communications (as defined in ASME B30.2, ASME B30.3, ASME B30.5, ASME B30.6), personal fall protection methods, emergency procedures, hazards, and restrictions with working in proximity to overhead electric lines and equipment.
