Overview

The NCCER Certified Signal Person is a crane operator’s second set of eyes. A signal person is proficient in the performance of hands and verbal signals including the standard methods for hand signals as required by ASME B30.2, ASME B30.3, ASME B30.5 and ASME B30.6. A signal person must comprehend all types of hand signals, the crane dynamics involved in the swinging, controlling and stopping of load and the boom deflections from hoisting loads, and demonstrate basic knowledge of crane operations and limitations. Upon completion of this course, the Qualified Signal Person must demonstrate their knowledge, through a NCCER written assessment and NCCER Practical examination. This course is to verify hands-on capabilities of each participant in Hand and Voice signal operations.
Student must provide their own personal protective equipment.
Each attendee will receive an NCCER handbook, NCCER certification and certification card (with passing grade of 80% or higher), and a Signal Person and Master Rigger Handbook.
